At Buggs Island Baby, we believe every small town needs a little sparkle — and for us, that meant opening a children's boutique filled with charm, comfort, and community spirit.
Here’s a look at how we started, what we’ve learned, and where we’re headed next.
🧵 How It All Began
Our journey started with East Coast Embroidery, a side project we ran from home while raising kids and growing our creative dreams. Over time, we began adding children’s clothing to our embroidery offerings — and it quickly took off.
Eventually, we opened our boutique storefront right in the heart of Clarksville, VA, naming it Buggs Island Baby in honor of the beautiful lake that defines our town.
We’ve been serving families — both local and online — ever since!
🌱 Growing Through Challenges
Like many small businesses, we faced our share of challenges — including weathering the COVID-19 pandemic. It pushed us to think creatively, embrace online sales, and reconnect with why we do what we do: bring joy to families through personalized, thoughtful products.
